Check out this video of Copenhagen's kick ass bike culture/lanes/way-of-living by Street Films! I wish every city in the world would take the initiative to implement the infrastructure needed for such bike-friendly living. Aside from the obvious benefits to society, bicycling more would certainly also help reduce obesity and  air and noise pollution. [Thanks @lostart]

Another Fan Who Hates Trent Edwards - Fidelity Fires Fantasy Footballer

Cameron Pettigrew called himself the "Fidelity Man."

Working as a relationship manager in the private client group at Fidelity Investments’ Westlake office, Pettigrew says he looked forward to work every day. He even remembers telling co-workers and friends that he planned to retire someday from Fidelity, the country’s biggest mutual fund sponsor and one of the world’s largest providers of financial services.

But that isn’t going to happen. Pettigrew and three other Fidelity employees were fired for playing fantasy football.

"Firing a guy for being in a $20 fantasy league? Let’s be honest; that’s a complete overreaction," said Pettigrew, who lives in Grapevine and has an MBA from the University of Texas at Arlington. "In this economic time, especially. To fire people over something like this, it’s just cold."

"One of my buddies sent me something about how bad Trent Edwards was playing or something like that," Pettigrew said. "So they called me in and talked to me for about 90 minutes on everything I ever knew about fantasy football. They interrogated me as though I was some sort of international gambling kingpin."

Gawker: An Apology: Avatar Amazingly Does Not Suck

Avatar, while certainly not without flaws, manages to create a sense of true epic scope in which the journey becomes greater than the sum of its effects.

It is going to become to film that everyone — nerds, families, grandparents — will have to see and it will rake in unbelievable amounts of loot; mountains of cash beyond the imagination.

So now it is time to point fingers — at ourselves. How in the heck did we get this so wrong? How did a movie manage to look so horrible and actually turn out to be great?

There has always been something mysterious and disturbing about these four girls, conventionally dressed and well-mannered though they seem: the antithesis of Louisa May Alcott’s Little Women, who entered the public consciousness so boisterously in the late 1860s, just over a decade before Sargent painted the enigmatic Boit sisters.
